- The Dairy Guest House
-
- The dairy is a lovingly restored
and upgraded Victorian town house, retaining its character and
original features, such as stained and etched glass windows,
pitch pine doors and staircase, cast iron fire grates and wonderfully
ornate ceiling roses and cornices.
-
- The dairy is set around a flower-filled
courtyard, with charming cottage styled rooms which offer warmth
and welcome.
- Each individually styled room
has a colour television, CD/Cassette Player, hot drink facilities,
hairdryer and alarm clock. In addition the personal touches include
toiletries, maps, books, games and information folders.

 |
- We offer a full range of delicious
breakfasts from continental to traditional British or vegetarian.
- The property was built in 1890.
Originally it was a family home and joinery business. It was
then purchased by the Trapp family and became a town dairy, selling
milk, ice-cream and Yorkshire curd.
- We strive to be an environmentally
responsible Guest House. Although the courtyard makes an ideal
haven for a quiet smoke, the rest of the house is a smoke-free
zone.
- Situated in central York, we
are just 200 yards south of the medieval city walls and an easy
stroll to York's many attractions and museums.
