Bed
and breakfast in Winsford. Winsford is located in the heart of
rural Cheshire. The M6 motorway is six miles to the east giving
easy access to all parts of the UK. The town developed as the
result of large salt deposits and was the main area in the world
for salt production. The river Weaver was transformed into a
canal to allow salt to be transported to Northwich and Liverpool
for export. Salt washed out of the rock causing collapse, forming
"Flashes" which are now used for sailing and fishing.
Vale Royal Borough Council has its headquarters in Winsford.
Winsford offers a good range of large chain stores, small shops,
banks, building societies, estate agents and a post office. Also
see Winsford & Winsford
