From Warminster you can explore the Cotswolds and the south/ southwest of England. Wiltshire borders the counties of Dorset, Somerset, Hampshire, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire. Salisbury Plain is famous as the location of Stonehenge stone circle and other ancient landmarks such as the large henge and stone circles surrounding the village of Avebury. The city of Salisbury is notable for its cathedral and the county town is Trowbridge. Salisbury, in the south of the county is less than 30 miles from the south coast. Swindon, in the north of the county is easily accessed along the M4.

Attractions Wiltshire White Horses- The Westbury or Bratton white horse is the oldest of the Wiltshire horses. Standing as it does on Westbury Hill, it is well sited for visibility in the surrounding area. There is a car park and viewing area on the B3098 just east of Westbury, and a car park above the horse on Westbury Hill. About 5 miles north of Warminster.
