The town grew up around the now-ruined Tenby Castle as a port, and is now a popular old - fashioned seaside resort. Tenby has two large sandy beaches and an attractive harbour with boat trips to nearby Caldey Island. Attractions in Tenby include the 13th-century town walls, the Five Arches barbican, the 15th-century St Mary's Church, the Tudor Merchant's House, a museum and art gallery, and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path.
