Taynuilt attractions |
|
 Taynuilt lies near to the south shore of Loch Etive
where the A85 to Oban drops west from the Pass of Brander. Taynuilt
has an antiques shop that attracts visitors from far and wide
with its excellent selection of dolls' houses, fixtures and fittings.
Much of the village is built in an attractive grey stone that
blends with the surrounding mountains. Adventurous walkers will
discover Taynuilt while following the route of the Coast to Coast
Walk from Oban to St Andrews. |

 McCaig's Tower, Oban. The famous landmark of
McCaig's Tower is a Colosseum-like structure, built on a hill
overlooking Oban Bay. The tower is nearly one hundred years old
and stands approximately 70 metres above sea level, the height
of the wall varying from 9 to 14 metres according to the different
levels of the ground. It dominates the Oban skyline and the short
steep walk to its viewing platform is well worth the effort.
