Beauly
Priory, Beauly. Tel: 01667 460232. Beauly Priory was one of three
priories founded in Scotland by the Valliscaulian order from
Burgundy after 1230. It was referred to by the monks as 'Prioratus
de Bello Loco' (Priory of the Lovely Spot). The monastery was
completed in 1272. It is located in the northeast of the village
close to the River Beauly and is now in the care of Historic
Scotland. About 10 miles
south of Strathpeffer. |
