on Severn is a lively riverside town with some lovely Georgian
buildings and an interesting canal history. Stourport was once
one of the busiest inland ports in the midlands. Today its role
has changed to that of an an inland resort; pleasure boats cruise
both the canal and the Severn, while the extensive riverside
meadows and river front are ideal for walking and fishing. Stourport
offers riverside amusements, children's play areas, picnic sites
and river-boat trips during the summer. Severn Steamboat Company
offers day cruises to Worcester and 40 minute local cruises. |
