St Clears is 7 miles west of Carmarthen,
a small town in the middle of an agricultural area. There is
an impressive motte and bailey castle at St Clears, a crafts
centre and some small shops. St Clears is situated where the
Afon Cynln meets the river Taf. Nearby Laugharne is famed for
its connection with DylanThomas and views over the Taf Estuary.
St Clears has several shops including delicatessans, Take Aways,

Dylan Thomas Boathouse, Dylan's Walk, Laugharne,
SA33 4SD. Tel: 01994 427420. Laugharne was the home of Dylan
Thomas and the Boat House (where he wrote Under Milk Wood) is
now a Heritage Centre of world repute. He and his wife Caitlin
are buried in the local churchyard. Unfortunately this venue
is unsuitable for wheelchair access but the Writing shed can
