Staplehurst in Kent lies on the A229 Maidstone to Hawkhurst
road, this stretch is Roman and lead from Beauport near Battle
to Rochester. Staplehurst's main role is as a commuter village
and has a wide range of local shops and facilities. The Dover
to London train service passes through Staplehurst and provides
a fast and regular service to the Capital. Staplehurst church
stands on a hill, surrounded by black and white timber framed
houses, this is the oldest part of the village and is the most
picturesque.

rear gardens and rural views. The house is comfortably furnished

is located in peace and tranquility in the beautifully landscaped
grounds of an ancient beamed Wealden Manor House, dating from
the 15th Century and which nestles in 15 acres of paddocks and
fields. Situated only a short drive from the village of Staplehurst
where there are shops, church, pubs and mainline railway station
to London or the coast, this is an excellent location for visiting
nearby Sissinghurst Castle and gardens, the exquisite Leeds Castle,
Scotney and Bodiam Castle as well as the many other gardens,
castles and historic houses which are all within easy reach of
this central location in the heart of Kent. There are numerous
National Trust properties to enjoy in the locality. Picturesque
Cranbrook with its famous Union Windmill, shops, banks, pubs
and sports centre and the delightful country town of Tenterden
with antique shops, tea-rooms, restaurants, pubs, the Kent &
East Sussex steam Railway and Leisure Centre are both a short
distance away. Ideal for both sightseeing and shopping are the
historic towns of Tunbridge Wells, the Cathedral city of Canterbury
and the cinque port of Rye. Gardener's Cottage enjoys privacy
at the far end of the Manor House.

and charismatic ancient cottage in a central, but quiet location
in the heart of Tenterden. This fully modernised and renovated
character cottage has wealth of original oak beams, a huge inglenook
fireplace with woodburning stove and a quiet and pretty enclosed
cottage garden to the rear.

also just minutes from the historic county town of Cranbrook
with its wealth of good restaurants, pubs and specialist shops.
Enjoy the secluded garden overlooking your own private woodland
- and the home grown vegetables! Notes: The owners in the main
house have a Great Dane.
Sleeps 4. Amberstone Cottage is located in the centre of the
'chocolate box' village of Smarden. This charming end of terrace
17th Century cottage has been tastefully decorated and furnished.
Trains for London from nearby Headcorn station, and Ashford International
station is only about 8 miles away.
Sleeps 2. Pound Hill Cottage is a most attractive barn conversion
in the grounds of Pound Hill Farm - a traditional Kent farmhouse.
A gloriously peaceful spot surrounded by unspoilt countryside,
there are many lovely walks in the vicinity. The small village
of Frittenden has a popular pub and small shop and is ideally
located for exploring the many attractions in the High Weald
of Kent - Sissinghurst Castle Gardens is a pleasant 2 mile walk.
The barn has been converted to a very high standard providing
exceptional comfort for two guests. The full height of the barn
creates a wonderfully spacious living area with solid wood floors
and double doors to a paved terrace and garden. Orginal beams
have been retained and in one corner is a very effective woodburner.

storage area that could possibly be used for occasional overnight
