Welcome to our page of accommodation in Shap! Shap is situated in a beautiful valley in the Shap Fells, yet close to the M6 motorway. It consists mainly of a double row of stone cottages and old coaching inns.Once markets traded here in fleece and a 1690 Market House still survives. South of the village are the Shap quarries. The best stone was used in the building of the Albert Memorial and St Pancras Station. The area around Shap provides walkers with miles and miles of field and moorland tracks to the high fell walks. Three stone circles are found closeby. The remains of the 12th century Abbey of St. Mary can be seen against the skyline. Local information for Shap at the bottom of this page.
