	King John's Castle, Limerick. King John’s Castle is a fortified 13th century Castle on ‘King’s Island’ in the heart of medieval Limerick, on the river Shannon. The Castle was built between 1200 and 1210 and was repaired and extended many times in the following centuries. The visitor centre at the Castle contains an imaginative historical exhibition which tells the story of the Castle. About 8 miles east of Shannon.
	Shannon Airport is the second busiest airport in the Republic of Ireland. It mostly handles transatlantic flights and flights to Britain. Shannon Airport also has a history of foreign military use. A large part of its business is military stopovers, currently almost all American. Location: On the outskirts of Shannon.
	Bunratty Castle & Folk Park - Magnificent Bunratty Castle was built around 1425. The restored castle contains mainly 15th and 16th century furnishings and tapestries. Within its grounds is Bunratty Folk Park where 19th century Irish life is tellingly recreated. About 3 miles from Shannon.
