Welcome to our page of accommodation in Settle!
Settle is one of the main market towns serving the Yorkshire
Dales and is well-known as the starting point of the Settle-Carlisle
Railway and as a gateway to the Three Peaks of Penyghent, Whernside,
and Ingleborough. Once famous for its cattle and sheep fairs,
the hub of the town is still the market place which is flanked
by 17th century buildings. The Shambles in the market square
was originally a medieval butchers and slaughterhouse. Some of
Settle's staple industries included hand-loom weaving, stocking
knitting and hat making. |
