		Ruthin lies in the preserved county of Clwyd which includes Flintshire, Denbighshire, Wrexham County Borough, and Conwy County Borough. Located in the northeast corner of Wales, it is a hilly county with the Berwyn Mountains to the south, the Clwydian Range to the east and the river valleys of the Clwyd and Dee. Along the coast are the tourist resorts of Rhyl, Colwyn Bay and the great fortress town of Conwy, while other main towns are Wrexham, Denbigh, Mold, Ruabon and Flint.

	Moel Famau Country Park, near Mold. Moel Famau is an impressive Country Park with 2000 acres of colourful heather moorland, a haven for wildlife like birds of prey. It forms part of the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and is well known for the prominent Jubilee Tower remains at the summit. About 4 miles north of Ruthin.
	Loggerheads Country Park, Nr Mold CH7 - Tel: 01352 810469. Loggerheads, three miles from Mold on the A494, is an area of outstanding natural beauty and has been popular with visitors for over 70 years. Since its acquisition and promotion by Clwyd County Council as a Country Park and Visitor Centre the area has become a major tourist attraction. About 7 miles northeast of Ruthin.
	Clwyd Theatr Cymru, Mold, Flintshire CH7 1YA - Tel: 01352 755114. Clwyd Theatr Cymru is the leading producing theatre in Wales with an international reputation for its artistic achievements. Located in Mold, it offers entertainment for all. About 9 miles northeast of Ruthin.
	Denbigh Castle, Tel: 01745 813385. The striking ruins of Denbigh Castle, crowning a steep hill above the town, enjoy commanding views of the pastoral Vale of Clwyd and the round-backed hills of the Clwydian range. The castle's finest feature is its striking triple-towered Great Gatehouse. Denbigh is about 6 miles northwest of Ruthin.
