Self catering accommodation in Ripponden. Ripponden
is a charming conservation village in West Yorkshire near Sowerby
Bridge and Halifax, on the River Ryburn. It is the site of a
Roman settlement, and there is a Roman Road over nearby Blackstone
Edge, a rocky ridge of millstone grit. Ripponden is the main
settlement in a small group of villages, Barkisland, Ripponden,
Rishworth and Soyland. Ryburn Reservoir is about 1 mile outside
Ripponden, built between 1925 and 1933 to supply water to Wakefield.
There is a woodland walk around the reservoir. Also see Ripponden
and Ripponden attractions.
