Rayleigh is a commuter town in Essex. The Holy Trinity church sits above the High Street, its Tower dates from the 15th Century and is partly made up of remnants of a castle that used to exist in Rayleigh. The Rayleigh Clock is visible from most of Rayleigh High Street. Also close to the High Street is Rayleigh windmill. Attractions Royal Horticultural Society - RHS Garden Wisley (RHS) Garden Hyde Hall, Hyde Hall, Rettendon, Chelmsford, Essex CM3 8ET. Tel: 01245 400256. RHS Garden Hyde Hall was donated to the Society in 1993. Nearly 40 years of work has brought it from a windswept hill with just six mature trees, to the present day Garden of 24 acres. www.rhs.org.uk. About 7 miles north of Rayleigh.
