the first Royal Burgh in Scotland and is over 1000 years old.
Orginally a mining community, the mines have long gone now. With
good road links, it's own airport and close to ferry ports. Ayr
and Troon are nearby towns. |

Ardrossan
to Brodick (Arran) Ferry - Prestwick is
about 25 miles from the Ferry Port at Ardrossan. The Island of
Arran is situated on the south west coast of Scotland. Arran
is one of the most southerly Scottish islands. 55 minute crossing
from Ardrossan to Brodick. |

Troon
- Ferries - Prestwick is about 6 miles
from the Ferry Port at Troon. In 2002 SeaCat moved the Scottish
terminal for its fast ferries to Ireland from Stranraer to Troon
and these sleek vessels are now a regular sight in the harbour
here. Larne-Troon in takes less than 2 hours. |
