The Cleveland Way	The Cleveland Way is a 110 mile National Trail between Helmsley and Filey via Osmotherley, Saltburn, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Ravenscar and Scarborough, around the North York Moors National Parks. It passes right through Whitby.

Helmsley Castle / Rievaulx Abbey

Helmsley Castle has recently undergone a thorough makeover by English Heritage, making it more accessible to a wide range of visitors. This includes a brand-new visitor centre also providing tourist information, an audio tour, and an imaginative hands-on exhibition in the mansion range. Displaying a fascinating array of finds from Civil War cannon balls to early tableware, this exhibition explores the social and domestic, as well as the military, aspects of the fortress. The steam train takes the tourists on an 18 mile (29 km) journey from a small market town of Pickering to the village of Grosmont. The train operates daily from about April to October, the departures are hourly. The railway was also used in numerous movies, including the Harry Potter movies, Heartbeat, Possession, and in the Sherlock Holmes television series just to name a few.

Saltburn Cliff Lift & Pier Lower Promenade Saltburn 01287 622528	Opened June 1884, this is the oldest remaining water-balance cliff lift in Britain.The lift is 120ft high and the track 207ft long. Refurbished with stained glass windows, it links Saltburn pier, one of the few left in the country, with the town.
