It has some spectacular sunsets throughout the year, made all the more memorable by the magnificent ruined castle that stands on a small island at the west end of the town. Amongst its ruins is an ancient Celtic cathedral dating from the 13th century. The cathedral is surrounded by the pink sandstone walls of Peel Castle, which dates from the 14th century.

	Glen Helen Inn has a picturesque setting, beautiful gardens and home-cooked food. It is located in a glen on the west side of the island. Beautiful gardens lead through the glen to Rhenass Falls, an outdoor seating area, a large car park and an outdoor play area for children. The well-equipped en suite bedrooms overlook Glen Helen and the countryside. There is a modern bar and a large conservatory restaurant with a varied menu, homemade desserts, coffees, packed lunches (on request) and afternoon tea. Food is served from 11:30 until 21:00. Glen Helen is one of 17 national glens on the island. It is a famous corner on the TT course, and a radio-commentary point.
