Water, Europe's largest man-made lake, which offers sailing,
cruising, water skii-ing and sailboarding.
Deer, Pheasant and Partridge shoots can be easily arranged.

Iben Cocker and Micheal Parker, have established for themselves
an enviable reputation for the standard of the meals that they
prepare. A new menu is devised each day, and as much of the produce
as possible is bought locally.
- In 1989, it became the first
hotel in Northumberland to receive an RAC merit award, it holds
an A.A. rosette, and a Les Routiers Gold Plate for its restaurant.
- More recently it has won the
Les Routiers "Outstanding Wine List Award", with wines
from sixteen countries priced from £9 to £80.
- The restaurant can seat more
than 100 people at one sitting, but its layout is such that it
offers an atmosphere of warmth and intimacy even for lone diners.
Every day a three course lunch is served. Bar meals are available
lunch time and evenings. Dinner is four course plus coffee.

Self catering accommodation
- Riverdale Court
- Four new purpose built stone
appartments just 30yds to the south of the main hall. The two
first floor apartments have balconies overlooking the cricket
field, the North Tyne river and bridge, and Dunterly Fell (Pennine
Way). These apartments sleep 6 and comprise of open plan lounge,
kitchen and dining area, two bedrooms with twin beds and two
bathrooms, with both bath and shower. Two extra beds are available
in the large lounge (average size 18' x 15'). Double beds are
available on request. The two ground floor apartments are similar,
but with one bedroom, one bathroom, disabled access and garden
area with patio.
- Stable Cottages:
- Quietly situated, with beautiful
views over the fells. Own car park for up to 3 cars, and lock-up
Upstairs: 1 double + 1 twin + 1 single, share a bathroom with
bath and separate shower.
Downstairs: Large fully appointed kitchen with large dining table
(to seat 7/8), with comfortable chairs, plus large television
and video recorder.There is no lounge, but of course the Hotel
has a bar, lounge, games room, swimming pool etc.

- Situated in the village square
600 yds from the main hotel, Riverdale Hall Apartments are situated
in a listed stone building built in the square of the small market
town of Bellingham. Also in the square is the main food store,
butchers, public house and the post office; shops and banks are
The four apartments each have a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and
lounge. They accomodate four single beds - the ones in the bedroom
being easily moved together and the comfortable beds in the lounge
area folding out of elegant hardwood cabinets. Apartment one
has a double bed. Parking in the square is free.
There is free use of the indoor pool and sauna, fishing and all
other hotel facilities.
