Torrs Millennium Walkway, New Mills, Derbyshire.
The walkway provides a route through the previously impassable
gritstone gorge at Torrs, New Mills. The gorge is an area of
exceptional natural beauty and unique industrial archaeological
heritage. An elevated 160m long cantilevered walkway provides
the important missing link for the Mid Shires Way,
allowing people to walk the whole scenic, 275 mile trail. Location: In the centre of New Mills. |

One of the grandest buildings in Cheshire, Lyme Park was originally
a Tudor house and transformed into an Italianate palace by the
Venetian architect Leoni. The house is set in several hundred
acres of parkland and woodland where deer abound. It is bordered
by a sunken Dutch garden, rose gardens and a great conservatory
set above an attractive lake. National Trust. Charges apply. About 3 miles
