Welcome to our page of information,
attractions and places of interest around Moffat. The
Moffat hotels listed below are either in the town or we
have given a rough guide as to how far they are from Moffat.
From Moffat you can explore the the Solway coast with miles of
deserted sandy beaches, rocky coves and cliff-top paths; the
Galloway Hills, an area of beautiful moors, mountains, lakes
and rivers, and the Southern Upland Way, one of the most challenging
long-distance footpaths in Scotland. We hope you enjoy your stay
and find your ideal accommodation from our list of Moffat hotels
and/or the surrounding area.
Nestling in the Moffat hills, Moffat
is easy to find. Situated a mile from the main A74M from Carlisle
to Glasgow, Moffat is a great stopping off point as well as a
perfect place to stay. Visitors can enjoy the scenic trail to
Edinburgh and the Borders and sample the other attractions in
Dumfriesshire. Moffat has an excellent range of cafes, giftshops,
and grocery shops, many in sight of the Moffat Ram (photo) in
the High Street square. The town has a good 18-hole golf course,
a park with a boating lake, a putting green and swings for children.
