 Manningtree lies in the county of Essex, a large county
northeast of London with water on 2 sides. It has areas of flat
agricultural scenery, undulating and pretty that suited English
watercolourists. Narrow lanes wind through meadows past weather-boarded
mills and unfenced fields, while flinty church towers can be
seen from tree-lined hilltops. There are impressive historic
towns such as Colchester to visit and charming villages of old
houses such as Thaxted and Dedham. |

Centre Tel: 01206 396048. This Animal rescue centre is home to
over 2,000 rescued animals and birds ranging in size from Mice
to Shire horses including Cats and Dogs, infact most indigenous
species. Many of these animals roam around the site freely (where

Mistley
Towers are the twin towers of the now demolished Church of St.
Mary the Virgin at Mistley in Essex. The lodges built in 1782
for the hall still remain, standing to the East of the Towers. Location:

Dedham Vale and Flatford - Constable Country.
Flatford Mill is on the River Stour close to the Suffolk-Essex
border. There is a tiny 16th century thatched cottage (Bridge
Cottage) beside the river, now owned by the National Trust. Famous
location for John Constable's idyllic pastoral paintings. About 2 miles west of Manningtree. |
