From Malmesbury you can explore the Cotswolds
and the south/ southwest of England. Wiltshire borders the counties
of Dorset, Somerset, Hampshire, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire
and Berkshire. Salisbury Plain is famous as the location of Stonehenge
stone circle and other ancient landmarks such as the large henge
and stone circles surrounding the village of Avebury. The city
of Salisbury is notable for its cathedral and the county town
is Trowbridge. Salisbury, in the south of the county is less
than 30 miles from the south coast. Swindon, in the north of
the county is easily accessed along the M4.
