		Macclesfield is in the pastoral county of Cheshire, with the broad fertile meadows of the Cheshire Plain, country manor houses and the historic county town of Chester. The main road from Stockport and Manchester to Macclesfield is still called "The Silk Road". Just a short distance from the silk museum is Paradise Mill which is a living museum.
