From Looe you can explore both the north and south coasts of Cornwall in this narrow neck of land stretching down to Land's End. Fishing ports, little harbours, seaside resorts at Newquay, Falmouth and St Ives and the craggy coastline give Cornwall a character of its own, while inland the countryside is dotted with remnants of its past mining industries.

Attractions Old Guildhall and Gaol, Higher Market Street, East Looe, Cornwall, PL13 1BP. Tel: 01503 263709. One of Looe’s oldest buildings is the Old Guildhall in East Looe. It dates back to around 1500. It was formerly the town hall, but now houses the Museum. Fine Art, Local History. Location: In the centre of Looe.

Attractions Polperro Heritage Museum of Smuggling. Overlooking the harbour, the Museum of Smuggling displays a collection of exhibits, photographs and items of memorabilia. About 3 miles west of Looe.
