Marble Arch is about 2 miles west of Charing Cross,
Westminster, generally accepted as the place for measuring the
distance to and from London. The arch itself is a white Carrara
marble monument near Speakers' Corner, in the northeast corner
of Hyde Park and at the western end of Oxford Street. Only members
of the Royal family and the King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery
are allowed to pass through the arch. If you are flying to/from
London, Heathrow airport is about 9 miles from Marble Arch, Gatwick
airport is about 24 miles and London city airport is about 10
