The port of Lochinver is the largest settlement on the west coast
of Scotland, north of Ullapool. Lochinver has a main street running
along the eastern end of Loch Inver. This contains the main shops
and services and is focused on the striking war memorial on the
shore of the loch. "Suilven" is a 2389ft high remote
lump of rock and is possibly the best mountain in Scotland. When
viewed from Lochinver, Suilven looks like a policeman's helmet
of rock. |
