Llanidloes lies in the preserved county of Powys,
a large county in central and east Wales covering the former
administrative counties of Montgomeryshire, Radnorshire, most
of Brecknockshire and a small part of Denbighshire. It is a mountainous
county making north-south transportation by car quite difficult,
however its main attraction is the variety of breath-taking scenery
with rolling hills and rugged mountains, spectacular passes,
gentle valleys and dense forests. Its main towns include Brecon,
Builth Wells, Llandrindod Wells, Llanidloes, Machynlleth, Newtown
and Welshpool. |
