	Valle Crucis Abbey, Llangollen - Tel: 01978 860326.The evocative ruins of Valle Crucis lie in green fields beneath Llangollen's steep sided mountains. The abbey was founded in a remote location particularly suitable for the Cistercian order. Their Abbey, founded in the 13th century and added to a century later, has fared better than many of its contemporaries against the ravages of time, history and neglect. Many original features remain, including the glorious west front complete with an elaborate, richly carved doorway and beautiful rose window. About 1 mile north of Llangollen.

	Plas Newydd, Hill Street, Llangollen, Denbighshire LL20 8AW - Tel: 01978 8611314. Home to the celebrated " Ladies of Llangollen" from 1780 to 1829. A charming house with carved-oak panels, intricate stained glass windows and tranquil gardens. Location: In the centre of Llangollen.

	Erddig, Wrexham LL13 0YT - Tel: 01978 355314. National Trust. Charges apply. An atmospheric house and estate, vividly evoking its family and servants in the 18th and 19th century. 	Bersham Heritage Centre & Ironworks, Bersham, Wrexham LL14 4HT Tel:- 01978 261529. Bersham Heritage Centre is the central information point of the Clywedog Valley. It has exhibitions on the industrial history of the area. Bersham Ironworks originally dates from the late 17th Century. Here in the 18th Century, John Wilkinson produced cannon for the American War of Independence and cylinders for James Watt's steam engines. About 10 miles northeast of Llangollen.

	Llangollen Wharf - Canal Boat Trips in North Wales (Photo right). Tel: 01978 860702. Llangollen Wharf is one of the major attractions in the North Wales market town of Llangollen. From the Wharf you can embark on either a horse drawn boat trip along the feeder for the main canal, or a motorised aqueduct cruise which takes you across the famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct built by Thomas Telford. Both these trips take in the magical sights and sounds of the beautiful Llangollen Canal. Location: In the centre of Llangollen.

	Llangollen Railway, LL20 8SN - Tel: 01978 860979. We have reopened a section of the former Ruabon to Barmouth route in North Wales that was closed in the 1960s. Our heritage trains now operate at weekends for most of the year, and all week from April to October.
