Shopping - Leeds became the post-Industrial
Revolution centre of the Yorkshire cloth trade and is arguably
the birthplace of ready made clothing and the chain store. In
1883 pioneering local man, Joseph Hepworth, established the first
ever chain of tailoring stores and just one year later Michael
Marks, of Marks & Spencer fame, opened his first stall at

cinema. The Victoria Quarter, Leeds -

Queen Victoria opened the imposing Town Hall in September 1858
and the Civic Hall, which is constructed from dazzling white
Portland stone, dates from the 1930s. Armley Mill was once the
largest woollen mill in the world and has been converted into
