is a vibrant market town in the area between the Dart and Plym
esturies known as the South Hams. It has some fine Tudor and
Georgian buildings, especially the colonnaded Shambles on Fore
Street. Kingsbridge has good sports facilities including a sports
centre with indoor swimming pool. Kingsbridge is surrounded by
beautiful countryside, a summer ferry runs from Kingsbridge to
Devon's southernmost resort of Salcombe, almost at the mouth
of the Kingsbridge estuary. Local
