 Jersey measures 9 miles by 5 miles
and is the largest of the Channel Islands. It lies approximately
14 miles from Normandy and approximately 100 miles from Weymouth
and the south coast of England. Although part of the UK, with
its thriving economy and mainland France visible from its east
coast, Jersey has its own distinct identity - with a uniquely
French influence. As the most southerly island of the British
Isles, Jersey is usually the warmest place in the UK during the
summer. The island has 12 parishes, all having access to the
sea and almost all named after saints. |

Cross time 3 hours, 25 minutes. Poole to Jersey - Fast Ferry Services from Poole are available from 2nd April - 29th October 2007. Some summer services between 21st May & 30th September operate directly to Jersey with crossing times in as little as 3 hours. Portsmouth to Jersey - Conventional Ferry This service operates daily except Sundays year round. Portsmouth to Jersey (usually via Guernsey) is a day service with a crossing time of 10 hours 30 minutes. The overnight crossing from Jersey (usually direct) to Portsmouth is a very popular service, so be sure to book your crossing and cabin early! The Jersey/Guernsey is a 1 hour sailing, with 2 crossings daily. The Jersey/St Malo is a 1 hr 15m sailing with 1crossing daily. |
