two rivers, forming the River Greta at Ingleton. Ingleton sits
in the foothills of Ingleborough, this limestone region having
underground rivers, stunning potholes and caves. The area is
a magnet to walkers, climbers, cavers and potholers. Walking
is a favourite pastime for many visitors, with paths and routes
for all. The National Parks Authority has helped make the walking
very pleasant. White Scar Caves and Ingleborough Cave offer guided
tours, with White Scar Caves is being the longest cave chambers
in Britain. Ingleton heated open-air swimming pool is managed
by the local community. Ingleton is approximately 15 miles from
Lancaster & 15 miles from Kendal. |
