Bronte Parsonage Museum, Haworth, Keighley BD22 8DR Tel: 01535
642323 The Parsonage in Haworth is where the Bronte Sisters grew
up and wrote most of their famous novels, while their father
was incumbent at Haworth's adjacent church. It is now a museum
owned and maintained by the Bronte Society; lovingly preserved,
it is the principal attraction for Bronte enthusiasts visiting
Haworth. About 7 miles
north of Hebden Bridge. |

Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, The Railway
Station, Haworth, KEIGHLEY BD22 8NJ Tel: 01535 645214 The line
runs 5 miles from Keighley to Oxenhope, the original terminus.
The beautifully preserved KWVR has featured in many TV and film
productions and was the setting for the well known "Railway

Bingley
Five Rise lock. The 5-rise is the steepest flight of lock in
the UK. When it opened on March 21 1774, a major feat of engineering
at the time, a crowd of 30,000 people turned out to celebrate
it. The flight is a major tourist attraction in the area. About 10 miles northeast of Hebden

Hall, a splendid half-timbered manor house, was the home of the
Lister family for over 300 hundred years. Each of the owners
have left their mark on the property with furniture, decoration
and personal belongings. The house is open to the public and
is set in beautiful landscaped gardens and parkland.
