Travel Information Hawkshead is a small village on the edge of the Grizedale Forest in the Lake District. Cars are banned from the village, and there is a large car park on the outskirts of the village. Tourism is now the main industry of Hawkshead, with many pleasant inns, guest houses, teashops and gift shops.
