Harwich Essex

Harwich lies in the county of Essex, a large county northeast of London with water on 2 sides. It has areas of flat agricultural scenery, undulating and pretty that suited English watercolourists. Narrow lanes wind through meadows past weather-boarded mills and unfenced fields, while flinty church towers can be seen from tree-lined hilltops. There are impressive historic towns such as Colchester to visit and charming villages of old houses such as Thaxted and Dedham. Photo right: The Electric Palace cinema.Photo left: Harwich
