		Harpenden is in Hertfordshire, one of the Home Counties lying to the north of Greater London. To its east is Essex, to the west is Buckinghamshire and to the north are Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. About 3 miles west of Harpenden. The Showground is located 300 metres from Junction 9 of the M1. The Showground is signposted from the motorway.

	Whipsnade Wild Animal Park, Whipsnade, Dunstable, Bedfordshire, LU6 2LF. The country home of the Zoological Society of London, (London Zoo). About 7 miles NW of Harpenden.

	Hatfield House, Hatfield, Hertfordshire, AL9 5NQ. Tel: 01707 287010. A fine Jacobean House, the home of the Marquess of Salisbury. Superb examples of Jacobean craftsmanship can be seen throughout Hatfield House such as the Grand Staircase with its fine carving and the rare stained glass window in the private chapel. Visitors can enjoy the scented garden and fountains, and view the famous knot garden adjoining the Tudor Old Palace where Elizabeth I spent much of her childhood. About 7 miles SE of Harpenden.
