Halesowen is in the Borough of Dudley, located to the south-west of Birmingham. Halesowen has excellent access to the countryside, whilst being close to extensive road links including junction 3 of the M5 motorway. It has a Norman church, St John the Baptist. William Shenstone, the eighteenth century poet, is associated with the town and the local theatre and a Wetherspoon's are both named after him. Leasowes Park in the town was once owned by him. Halesowen town centre was almost completely rebuilt during the 1960s, as was a lot of new housing. There are some Victorian and Edwardian properties left in some parts of town. In half a mile, keep forward at the roundabout and then left at traffic lights onto A4036. At 2nd roundabout take Level Street (3rd exit). Then 2nd exit at roundabout. Cross Canal Bridge and the hotel is on the right. (approx 3 miles from Halesowen)
