Fort

Hanois reefs and the site of many historic shipwrecks. The small

The parish church of St Marie du Castro, Castel.
The parish church of Castel is notable for its preserved medieval
fresco and for the presence of a pre-Christian neolithic statue
menhir in the churchyard, thought to be carved to represent a

historic house lived in by descendents of Seigneurs going back
to the early 13th century. Over the generations the family have
been explorers, diplomats, admirals and generals who have all
left their mark. There are over 200 pieces of sculpture in the
art park and the sub-tropical garden is home to exotic plants
such as bamboo, banana trees, tree ferns, camellias, ginger,
subtropical lillies, hebes, giant echiums and giant geraniums.

Saviour's Church. St Saviour's was the fourth church to be built
in Guernsey. It is the largest of the country churches and stands
at the top of a valley overlooking the reservoir. It took 5 months
to construct and was dedicated and consecrated in 1154. The spire
raises to a height of 103 ft and is capped by a fine weathercock. On the island
