- The property is situated in
a picturesque and tranquil hamlet near to the village of St.
Fort and close to the tiny fishing ports of the Gironde estuary.
It is surrounded by vineyards, sunflower fields, and woodland,
and the views are lovely.
- The safe beaches of Meschers
and Royan are less than half an hour's drive away. There are
naturist beaches and good surf on the wild Atlantic coast further
west.
Saintes is nearby with its extensive Roman ruins, and is a very
beautiful and ancient town. Cognac also is not far away. There
are several good local restaurants nearby.
- The hamlet is remarkably friendly
and the way of life there hasn't changed for years. The climate
is good with long, hot summers and short, mild winters.

- The barn has just been renovated
to a high standard with all modern comforts yet retains its original
character.
- All the rooms are spacious
with plenty of light It has a showeroom and WC, a delightful
and well-equipped fitted kitchen with two microwaves, grill,
gas hob, freezer, fridge, dishwasher & washing machine. The
living room has traditional open beams with limestone walls.
- There are three large double
bedrooms each with a double bed, two of these bedrooms containing
an additional single bed. The two upstairs bedrooms have stunning
views over the surrounding countryside.

- There are three double duvets
and pillows, but it is requested that visitors bring their own
duvet and pillow covers, sheets and towels. All other necessities
are provided, including an outside table for eating out on, with
a large sunshade, plenty of chairs, a CD player, telephone, colour
television and five cooling fans.

- There is ample parking and
a large garden with exclusive use of a 10m x 5m (32ft x l6ft)
swimming pool which is surrounded by a generous patio with two
barbeques.
- There are seven bikes provided
and as the surrounding lanes are quiet and flat, cycling is easy.

Roscoff and 1 mile from the main Bordeaux/Royan road or 6 miles
from the Pons junction on the Paris/Bordeaux A10 auto route.
