Forest Row attractions

		From Forest Row the rural and coastal county of Sussex can be accessed. The county is now divided into East and West Sussex and is bounded on the north by Surrey, east by Kent, south by the English Channel, and west by Hampshire. It is an area with a fertile coastal plain along which are scattered numerous resort towns including Hastings, Bexhill, Eastbourne, Seaford, Brighton, Shoreham-by-Sea, Worthing, Littlehampton and Bognor. The South Downs Way runs along the grassy ridge of the South Downs, giving splendid views over the countryside and the coast over the chalk cliffs of Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters.

	Ashdown Forest Llama Park, Wych Cross, Forest Row, East Sussex, RH18 5JN. Tel: 01825 712040. You can now take a llama for a relaxing walk in private grounds set in the beautiful Ashdown Forest. Llamas are naturally intelligent and inquisitive and love to go for walk. Sorry, no dogs (except Guide Dogs) are allowed in the Park or Visitor Centre. www.llamapark.co.uk. About 2 miles south of Forest Row.

	The Bluebell Railway, Sheffield Park Station, East Sussex, TN22 3QL. Tel: 01825 720825. One of the largest tourist attractions in Sussex. Stations at East Grinstead (a special bus runs from East Grinstead to Kingscote Station), Kingscote, Horsted Keynes and Sheffield Park Station (East of Haywards Heath), the headquarters and home to the small exhibits Museum, model railway, restaurant and real ale bar, The Bessemer Arms. No public car parking at Kingscote. www.bluebell-railway.co.uk. Bus from East Grinstead (2 miles) to Kingscote station 3 miles west.

	Spa Valley Railway, West Station, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, TN2 5QY. Telephone: 01892 537715. Tunbridge Wells is the location of the railway's headquarters. Groombridge current limit for passenger trains, although the line exists all the way to Eridge. Location: Groombridge is about 5 miles east of Forest Row.

	Pooh Corner Ltd, High Street, Hartfield, East Sussex, TN7 4AE. Tel: 01892 770456. The Pooh Corner shop, in the High Street of Hartfield village, dates from around the 1690's. The shop is home to the world's largest selection of Winnie-the-Pooh products. It is situated in the village where the famous stories were written by A.A.Milne in the 1920's. www.pooh-country.co.uk. 	Wakehurst Place, Ardingly, nr Haywards Heath, West Sussex RH17 6TN. Tel: 01444 894000. Kew's 'country garden', with plants from across the world. 500 acres of walled and water gardens. National Trust. Charges apply. About 5 miles west of Forest Row.
