to our page of accommodation in Ely! Recent Archaelogical
excavations in Ely have unearthed Roman graves and the discovery
of the remnants of Iron Age Round Houses. Ely Museum (01353 666655)
is a bright and friendly local history museum, located in the
Bishop's Gaol in the centre of the city. Ely Cathedral was built
by William the Conqueror. The Cathedral Shop offers a wide range
of guides, souvenirs, gifts, classical CD's and Cassettes, religious
and local books. It is a magnificent Cathedral which attracts
visitors from all over the world and has a lively programme of
events. Ely City Football Club play in the Eastern Counties Football
