Easingwold is the most southerly of Hambleton's market towns, and is a perfect introduction to "Herriot Country". Only 13 miles north of York, Easingwold was the first staging post on the road north and enjoyed great prosperity in the coaching era, with some 26 public houses and inns.There is ample free parking within easy walking distance of the delightful Market Square, where the weekly Friday outdoor market is held. The Square is surrounded by Georgian buildings hidden away behind the main road. The town was granted a charter to hold a market every Friday and in addition to wandering among market stalls, visitors can enjoy browsing through Easingwold's numerous antique and speciality shops. Station: YORK. 10miles. Burn Hall is situated on the A19 York/Thirsk Road 10 miles north of York. Ample free parking. From York Train Station: From York Train Station bear right under the City wall then immediately keep left. Cross Lendal Bridge. At the traffic lights turn left signposted Inner Ring Road. Att Bootham Bar bear left onto the A19 signposted Thirsk. At the roundabout take the third exit onto Shipton Road (A19) signposted Thirsk. Continue forward entering Skelton. Continue forward onto Main Street - A19. Entering Shipton By Beningbrough. Turn right onto Tollerton Road (signposted Huby). Burn Hall is half a mile along this road on the left.

Station: YORK. 11miles. From the South & West (via the A64 & A1237 York Northerly bypass) - take the A19 north of York for about 10 miles, to a roundabout just south of Easingwold. Turn right half-way along the main street into Market Place, & the hotel is opposite the Market Cross. From the North - take the A19 South from Thirsk for about 10 miles, turn left at the roundabout just north of the town, half-way down the main street turn left into Market Place & the hotel is on the right.
