Cathedral and Castle - Here you can visit the Tomb of St. Cuthbert
and The Venerable Bede. The Castle is now part of the University
College but tours take place throughout the day. With the Cathedral,

Pockerley Manor and 1825 railway, recreating life in the North
East in the early 1800's and 1900's. Beamish Museum is an open
air museum where you can go underground in a drift mine, visit
the pit cottages, Victorian schoolroom, a Victorian dentist and
