Doonhill
Homestead is the site, marked out in the grass, of a wooden hall
of a 6th-century British chief, and of an Anglian chiefs
hall, which superseded it in the 7th century, revealed by aerial
photography followed by excavation in the 1960's. It is a rare
record of the Anglian occupation of southeast Scotland. About 2 miles
south of Dunbar. |
