- Woodside Cottage lies in an
idyllic rural setting just outside the village of Blackawton,
very close to the picturesque deep river port of Dartmouth in
South Devon.

- Originally the gamekeeper's
lodge for the Oldstone estate in the 18th Century, Woodside Cottage
has now been transformed into an exceptionally comfortable and
attractive home of great character.

- Very conveniently located down
a quiet country lane just off the main road to Dartmouth for
easy access to the town and the coast.

- A warm welcome, starting with
tea and home-made cake, awaits you.

except Christmas.

- We have three double bedrooms
offering exceptionally comfortable en suite accommodation.
- One of the rooms converts to
a sumptuous twin bedroom when required.
- Each room has its own unique
style and has been individually decorated in soft pastel colours

- Primrose Room - Our smallest but a very attractive room with a
large shower and a loo with a view which cannot be bettered.
- Green Room - Dual aspect with fabulous views in both directions.
Queen-sized bed. Fully tiled bathroom with power shower over
bath.
- Blue Room - Our largest room with sumptuous twin beds which
convert to a superking-sized double. Wonderful views. Shower
room with lovely painted tiles.

- The interlined curtains and
bed covers are hand made.

- There is a comprehensive light
refreshments tray with specially matched crockery, and usually
a vase of flowers from the garden.

- A hairdryer and a remote controlled
TV are also included.Guests are invited to make use of our sitting
room with its small library and log fireplace, the conservatory
with its unusual plants, the beautiful terraced gardens and a
swinging seat on the patio overlooking the valley.

- Round the large table in the
old beamed dining room, we serve real country breakfasts using
the very best local produce.
- If we have advance notice of
any special dietary requirements, we will do our best to satisfy
them.

- For evening meals, we can happily
recommend the George in the village as a friendly traditional
pub with a wide choice of excellent food, and it is easily reached
without the need to take the car.

- This is particularly welcome
after a long drive to Devon .

- We can supply packed lunches
and order newspapers, with due notice.

- We have excellent clothes drying
and ironing facilities, as much for walkers as for wedding guests.

- We have broadband internet
services including wireless network links for laptops

- The ancient village of Blackawton
is just a short walk from the house, and is renowned for its
annual International Worm Charming Contest. Dartmouth Golf and
Country Club is 5 minutes away by car, has an 18-hole golf course,
indoor swimming pool and restaurant, and offers our guests at
Woodside Cottage a 25% discount.

- The coast is about 10 minutes
away and the nearest beach is at the beautiful sheltered bay
of Blackpool Sands.

- The coastal walks are superb
and there is a special nature reserve at Slapton Ley.
