Paris is one of the most stimulating
cities in the world. Paris is a spiral of 20 arrondissements
(districts or neighbourhoods) which make up the city and which
are numbered from the centre outwards. Paris has two main airports,
Aéroport d'Orly, 16km (10mi) south of central Paris, and
Aéroport Charles de Gaulle, 27km (17mi) to the north.
There are six major train stations in Paris. For visitors from
the UK the route is via the Channel Tunnel (or Chunnel); the
Eurostar passenger service takes only three hours. TGV services
also link Paris with Amsterdam and Brussels. With the Eurotunnel
service, you can now drive from London to Paris, with your car
on the shuttle train. The city's public transportation is world
class. |
