The town has narrow streets which open into elegant squares, historic buildings, brewery buildings, mills and quayside warehouses. Ideal for touring the area, Clonakilty makes an holiday destination, with unspoilt sandy beaches, coves and harbours. Michael Collins was born in nearby Woodfield.

	Clonakilty Blackpudding is manufactured to the Original Harrington recipe prepared in 1880, a tradition which we take pride in continuing to this day. Location: In the centre of Clonakilty.
	West Cork Model Railway Village, The Station, Inchydoney Road, Clonakilty, West Cork. Tel: (023) 33224. Follow the route of a miniaturised version of the now defunct West Cork Railway and "step back in time" to experience the way of life in West Cork during the 1940's. Here you can see exhibitions of the railways and industries which once linked six West Cork towns: Bandon, Clonakilty, Kinsale, Dunmanway, Bantry and Skibbereen. 	Michael Collins, one of Ireland's leading historical figures, was born and lived in Clonakilty. A monumental statue of him by local artist Kevin Holland was erected in the centre of Clonakilty and dedicated in 2002. Location: In the centre of Clonakilty.
