Castlebar is the county town of County
Mayo, the 3rd largest county in Ireland. The town grew up as
a settlement around the De Barra castle in the 11th century and
was later the site of an English garrison. It is a busy bustling
Market Town and is one of the fastest growing towns in the country.
It is also centrally located for the touring of the county including
Ballintuber Abbey, The Ceide Fields, Croagh Patrick, Foxford
Woollen Mills, Moore Hall, Pontoon and the Turlough Round Tower.

Christchurch,
Castlebar. This fine Church was completed in 1739 and renovated
in the early 1800's. The feature clock tower was added during
