Welcome to our page of information, attractions
and places of interest around Cashel. The Cashel hotels
listed below are either in the town or we have given a rough
guide as to how far they are from Cashel. The Republic of
Ireland is bound to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the
east is the Irish Sea which reconnects to the ocean via the southwest
with St. George's Channel and the Celtic Sea. The Republic of
Ireland has 26 counties, and five cities Dublin, Cork,
Galway, Limerick, and Waterford. The west-coast of Ireland features
cliffs, hills and low mountains. The centre of the country is
flat with large areas of bogland. We hope you enjoy your stay
and find your ideal accommodation from our list of Cashel hotels.
Cashel is a town in County Tipperary,
in the southern midlands of Ireland. The town is particularly
renowned for the Rock of Cashel, a site hosting a ruined church
and fortifications, formerly the seat of the Irish kings of Munster.
The 28 meter round tower of Cashel stands high above the plain
of Tipperary against the backdrop of the Galtee mountains. While
the tower dates from the 11th century, the rock outcrop upon
which it stands has fortifications from the early 4th century.
The town of Cashel is just off the N8 route from Dublin to Cork.
